LATEST NEWS

With the ‘Strings Attached’ concert series now fully launched and refined as it includes a 7-piece ensemble, youth choir arrangements and a light show to correspond with the symphonic movements, the ensemble and crew are ready to take the show back to where it all began - London, ON for Saturday, May 12, 2012.   Tickets and concert information are available at the following link:

The Show

Michael performs original material with a selected group of classical and contemporary instrumentalists and a choir to create an evening of textured works with a dynamic delivery. This is an opportunity to see him perform his melodically driven material in an ideal environment where the lighting correlates to the musical score. Every concert in the series brings something new and different to showcase to make every concert experience for the audience - a unique one - but also maintains the orchestral flow for each performance that has made the series what it has grown to become.

Michael Gabriel is singer-songwriter who has toured Canada extensively, recorded and performed in the US, released multiple CD’s and put a strong focus on live shows for several years. For the ‘Strings Attached’ concert series, watch him perform his compositions with orchestral flavours at a custom-made event that has been in the making for his entire career.

The History

The premier was held at one of Canada's top concert venues in London, Ontario. On April 16, 2011, 'Strings Attached' was launched to an extremely receptive crowd that filled the room. The support for the premier event was outstanding from all the fans to all of the effort from the media.

The follow-up performance was held at the new Studio Theatre @ Centre In The Square in Kitchener, ON. This proved to be an even bigger event with the addition of backing vocals and steel-string guitar. Once again, the reception was overwhelming and the support from the community was extremely encouraging.

The end of 2011 was tagged by two very well attended and received ‘Strings Attached’ concerts that proved to be the most elaborate yet. There were almost 200 people who attended over the course of two evenings. With the addition of a light show that correlated to the musical score, new members and more material – these last two concerts of the year solidified the success of the newly launched series and set an incredibly inspiring tone for 2012. In fact – the success of the November shows sparked an immediate booking for one more Kitchener show in 2012 – ‘Strings Attached’ for Valentine’s Day.

On Feb. 14, 2012 - the ‘Strings Attached’ performance was the most textured and melodic concert to date. The latest instalment of the concert series featured a stunning performance by the Shade of Blue youth choir. For the first time - this 18 member group accompanied Michael and his orchestral ensemble - with original choral arrangements.  In previous concerts, a lighting show that synched up with the symphonic movements was introduced. On Feb. 14 – that concept expanded and was fully realized with additional lighting and a bigger to help illuminate capture more moments in the show.
